Most manufacturers are located in the United States and Asia. And the few European and French brands outsource their production there.
So, when you buy a sex toy from brand X, this is what happens:

Design ( Europe ) > Manufacturing ( USA/Asia ) > Importation into Europe by the brand > Importation into France by a wholesaler > Distribution to stores > Customer

Sometimes the product goes through several distribution/wholesaler networks that take their margin.
