The 4 spheres are graduated from bottom to top, with the largest at the top. Made of rigid glass, you distinctly feel each passage—the ball dilates, the constriction between two balls contracts, and the next one repeats. It's a back-and-forth of dilation/contraction that you won't find on a flexible rosary. The 3.5 cm diameter on the largest ball offers a full filling without being extreme.
